The 352 comes ex-factory with the most technology in the industry to enable improved operating efficiency, including Cat Grade with 2D. The system gives users visual cues for leveling via the standard touchscreen monitor, allowing them to dig more accurately. The system can be easily upgraded to Cat Grade with Advanced 2D or Cat Grade with 3D for improved accuracy.
Cat Payload Helps operators increase welding efficiency with mobile weighing: real-time load estimates can be calculated without swinging to avoid over- or underloading trucks.
Elevator Assist quickly calculates the weight of the actual lifted load and compares the result to the excavator's rated capacity. Visual and audio alerts indicate whether the machine remains within safe working range.
E-limit prevents the excavator from moving outside areas of use defined by the operator. This helps protect the machine, underground utilities and other objects from damage.
Cat Product Link™ provides constant wireless communication via the online VisionLink® interface, allowing machine operators in the office to quickly review critical business information.
Fuel economy is work per unit of fuel, and the 352 does more work per unit than the 352F.
The new Smart Mode system automatically matches engine and hydraulic power to digging conditions, reducing fuel consumption and improving performance. The engine speed is automatically reduced as the hydraulic power demand decreases, further reducing fuel consumption.
The cooling system features a new cooling-demand responsive fan designed to turn on only when needed, reducing fuel consumption and maximizing efficiency. An available reverse function helps clean the cooling cores: another plus for improved efficiency.
The new electro-hydraulic control system is designed for responsiveness and efficiency: the main control valve eliminates the need for control lines, reduces pressure losses and lowers fuel consumption. Fewer hydraulic lines means less hydraulic oil is needed, lowering long-term operating costs.
Extended and synchronized maintenance intervals contribute to the 352's lower long-term costs.
The new Cat air filter with integrated pre-cleaner and primary and secondary filter has twice the dust capacity of the previous design.
The new Cat hydraulic return filter has a service life of 3,000 operating hours: 50 percent more than previous filters.
Fuel system filters are synchronized for service every 1,000 hours: a 100 percent extension compared to previous filters.
The water and sediment drains and oil level control of the hydraulic system are located close together at ground level, making daily maintenance faster, easier and safer.
With a Deluxe cab, the 352 is designed to provide operators with maximum safety and comfort. Performance-enhancing features such as keyless push-button start, the large touchscreen monitor with rotary controls and noise-suppressing ROPS construction are standard equipment.
The following cab features are also sure to please machinists:
For work on steep slopes, the new Long Reach configuration can reach up to 19.6 meters (64 ft.) high and dig up to 13.04 meters (43 ft.) deep. Standard water-resistant technology provides precise excavation up to 4.5 meters (15 ft.); the optional underwater solution lets you work up to 20 meters (65 ft.) deep.
Heavy-duty high and wide undercarriage with additional counterweight provides a stable platform for digging with long reach. Variable-track undercarriage allows easier transport between job sites after retracting and provides additional stability when extended.
