The most recent developments such as new COVID-19 variants, the lockdown and a still valid ban on events, make the continuation of events impossible in the short term and highly uncertain in the medium term. After consulting exhibitors, partners and industry associations, relocation is the almost unanimous choice. A relocation to the fall of 2021 is also not an option due to the saturated (exhibition) calendar. The next edition of Aqua Netherlands will therefore take place on March 15, 16 and 17, 2022.
Esther Rodenburg, event manager, explains on behalf of Easyfairs: "Meanwhile, the Netherlands is entering its sixth week of lockdown and a curfew is now in effect. Of course there is light at the end of the tunnel, but events still seem far away at the moment. Even if there is a green light for events in the short term, the chances of a reasonable number of quality visitors this spring are slim. The vital infrastructure managing water boards and drinking water companies logically face protocols that advise against or even prohibit event attendance. We see those guidelines at most industries as well. For these reasons, this is no time to bring the Dutch water sector together for their annual networking event. Even though we have shown in autumn 2020 that we can organize safe events in Evenementenhal Gorinchem, moving is the only option for now. Of course, we ourselves also want to organize only top events for this community. Therefore the promise to make it the best edition yet together in 2022."
Rodenburg: "Moving to the fall was also unfortunately not an option. We regret this, because we think it is important for the market to show resilience and recover as quickly as possible. A trade show is then an ideal time to make the connections and face the challenges. Many exhibitors and partners report that their schedules simply do not allow for it. Many events were already scheduled, but many events have also been moved to the latter part of 2021. We make this decision with pain in our hearts and hope for understanding from all involved, but we want to ensure that our visitors, exhibitors, partners and speakers attend an event that will be at its best."
Aqua Netherlands is the trade show and national networking event for water professionals in wastewater, drinking water, industrial water, urban water and sewer management. During the water fair of the Netherlands, over 9,500 visitors see, feel and experience the latest innovations, services and products in the field of water treatment, water management and water technology at 350+ exhibitors.
