The demand for safe, comfortable and durable workwear is growing. As a Danish family company, MASCOT® WORKWEAR stands out in the market through a combination of innovation, quality and reliability. Companies in the infrastructure sector are also finding their way to MASCOT, and this is partly due to the MASCOT® ACCELERATE collection. In addition to unmatched wearing comfort, this collection also offers a Safe RWS line that meets the specific (high visibility) requirements of the Department of Public Works.
Where many manufacturers depend on external suppliers, MASCOT works with its own SA8000-certified factories in Vietnam and Laos. "That makes us unique," says John Peeters, Joint Country Manager Netherlands at MASCOT® WORKWEAR. "We know for sure that working and living conditions are good, and we have full control over production. This results in not only responsible clothing, but also consistent quality. Because we control the production ourselves, size and fit remain unchanged, so you can always expect the same product."
MASCOT is known for its innovative solutions. "An important step was the introduction of ULTIMATE STRETCH, a 4-way stretch material in workwear, which allows employees to experience significantly more freedom of movement," says Peeters. This has since been implemented in almost all product lines, including high visibility (hi-vis) clothing. In Scandinavia it has long been the norm to work with class 1, 2 or 3 hi-vis clothing. MASCOT offers an extensive range that not only meets European guidelines, but also the specific RWS requirements in the Netherlands. "The MASCOT® ACCELERATE SAFE RWS collection combines maximum visibility and safety with wearing comfort and freedom of movement to suit the needs of the GWW sector."
MASCOT offers complete collections that allow organizations to dress their staff from head to toe without compromising on appearance or functionality. "Our MASCOT® ACCELERATE collection with ULTIMATE STRETCH comes in a variety of designs. Whether it is the standard line, the RWS variant for high visibility or the Multisafe version with flame-retardant and anti-static properties: companies can count on a uniform and professional appearance for all employees with one collection," according to Peeters. "In addition, we also produce work shoes tailored to different disciplines. For example, for the GWW sector, we have the asphalt shoe with smooth sole in the range."
In addition to in-house production, MASCOT has a large central warehouse in Denmark. More than five million garments are currently stocked there, a capacity that is being expanded to 11 million. "Our customers don't have to worry about whether their clothing will be delivered on time," Peeters said. "Our delivery performance is one of the strongest points in the market." Peeters does add that MASCOT works exclusively through a network of dealers, such as national specialists, hardware stores and laundries. "A customer who chooses MASCOT does not have to change dealers. If there is already a cooperation with a MASCOT dealer, it can simply continue. We strengthen each other and work closely together to best serve the market. Dealers can also complete deliveries with additional items, such as gloves and PPE."
At the same time, MASCOT actively seeks contact with end users. "We distinguish between SMEs with up to 50 workwear wearers, for whom we drive a mobile showroom solution. At companies with up to 300 workwear wearers our account managers like to come over and everything above that is picked up by our key accounts," explains Peeters. "Through wearer trials and sparring sessions with safety experts, for example, we are constantly looking at how the clothing meets the wishes and requirements of the practice. The innovative MASCOT® SmartStore also plays a role in this: an online ordering system that allows employees to order their own package within preset budgets and conditions."
For MASCOT, responsibility is not a marketing slogan, but a strategic choice. The company is gradually replacing all polyester with recycled polyester. The Danish parent organization is strict about this: no claims are made without solid documentation. "In Denmark, people are even more critical of unsubstantiated claims than in the EU," says Peeters. "For us, responsibility is part of our DNA as a family business."
The slogan "Tested to Work" sums up MASCOT's philosophy perfectly. Every product is thoroughly tested, from the quality of the fabric to wearer tests with end users, before it is launched on the market. The result: workwear that is safe, thoroughly documented and proven in practice.
