Urban Mobility Systems is a clean-tech engineering company enabling emission-free construction machinery and mobility solutions. Founded in 2016 by Lars Kool, UMS specializes in battery-electric conversion systems and has worked with many major construction equipment brands such as Hyundai, Liebherr, Doosan, Bobcat, DAF and Magni.
Urban Mobility Systems has won the prestigious CES Innovation Award, an award presented each year to technology products at the initiative of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
UMS is very honored to have been chosen as one of the scale-up winners with the entry 'Zero Emission conversion kit for construction equipment'. Our Zero Emission kits offer a quick and efficient solution to convert diesel-powered construction equipment into clean, quiet Zero Emission machines. The revolutionary concept is not only applicable to new vehicles, but can also be used to retrofit the millions of excavators, cranes, etc. already in use today, giving them a new (emission-free) life. Our kits are rapidly being adopted and applied by all types of companies in the construction industry, creating a whole new product segment with huge global growth potential.
With the Dutch Tech industry, Urban Mobility Systems presents itself as one of 40 top-tech companies at the Hannover Messe from May 30 to June 2 at the Holland High Tech Pavilion (see the attached booth impression of this). Visit UMS in hall 003, booth A20 (B38), to apply for a free admission ticket: https://urbanmobilitysystems.nl/bezoek-ons-op-de-hannover-messe/. With a joint public-private presentation and collective program entitled "Integrating industries for a smart sustainable future," Dutch companies and industry associations will show there how integral smart and sustainable solutions can be developed through close international cooperation. HANNOVER MESSE is the leading knowledge and networking platform for the manufacturing, energy and logistics industries. Everything about digitalization and sustainability in industry.
UMS will be represented with the all-electric Bobcat E19, provided by our partner Inter-Techno from Apeldoorn (https://intertechno.nl/) and also with the UMS power box for charging off-grid capabilities.
For startups and scale-ups with growth ambitions, the Netherlands is soon too small. Germany is then the ideal springboard to take on the rest of the world. With the recent developments and war between Ukraine and Russia, neighboring Germany also sees the importance of becoming sustainable quickly and thus wants to become independent of energy supplies from Russia, among others. Germany has always had a good trade relationship with the Netherlands and therefore sees us as one of the most innovative countries in the world, especially in the field of Tech.
An important theme during Hannover Messe is thus sustainability after all the energy transition is highly dependent on proper digitalization of all necessary processes. The importance of the energy transition for the industry of tomorrow is emphasized with the presence of Frans Timmermans, the European Commissioner who has the rollout of the European Green Deal in his portfolio.
Opening by Chancellor
During the opening night on Sunday, May 29, more dignitaries will show their faces, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and António Costa, prime minister of "partner country" Portugal. Together, they will then perform the official opening ceremony.
