Engcon and Takeuchi deepen cooperation - excavators prepared ex-factory for rotary attachment

Is now improving turnaround times at its dealers with the introduction of an Engcon Ready alternative to the TB295W excavator. This is the beginning of an intensified cooperation between Takeuchi and Engcon - with the aim of offering ex-factory integrated solutions.

Swivels, intelligent control systems and automatic quick couplings from Engcon are also making smaller excavators more productive, and interest in these products is greater than ever. As interest and demand for Engcon products increase, so does the demand for shorter time-to-market. It is becoming increasingly important to minimize time at the dealership and deliver the complete machine as quickly as possible. This is especially true in times like these, where every day counts.

The newly developed Engcon Ready option for TB295W is the result of a collaboration between Engcon and Takeuchi to enable plug-and-play installations to minimize installation times for Engcon products. This development is a great benefit for joint customers.

The first machine with Engcon Ready option

The introduction of the Engcon Ready factory option is the first step in a comprehensive partnership with Takeuchi with the goal of offering factory-installed and integrated solutions.

"The TB295W is the first machine that will be delivered ex-factory with Engcon Ready. A good choice, because we see in many markets that that machine is usually fitted with an Engcon swivel arm," says Fredrik Eklind, product owner at Engcon Control Systems.

Eklind explains that the time spent at the dealer getting the machine ready is minimized by factory installation of Engcon's proportional control system, ergonomic levers and locking system for safe attachment changes.

"The only thing missing when the machine comes into the dealer's workshop is an Engcon quick coupler and swivel tilt to complete the configuration," continued Fredrik Eklind.

A fully integrated solution with many advantages

In addition to the benefits of reduced lead times, a factory-installed solution offers the customer additional benefits. Compared to the traditional solution, where the dealer performs the installation, the factory-ready Engcon Ready option is a fully integrated solution where the Engcon control system components are integrated as part of the machine.

The Engcon Ready option for the TB295W means the machine comes with Engcon levers emblazoned with the Takeuchi logo, machine-adapted cable routing and a hydraulic locking solution for Engcon's fully automatic quick couplers that connect attachments, hydraulics and electronics without the operator having to leave the cab. Everything is also specially developed in cooperation with Takeuchi and installed at Takeuchi's Nagano plant in Japan. The features are also covered by the same factory warranty as the rest of the machine.

Production of the TB295W with the Engcon Ready option started in August 2021 and the first machines will be delivered soon to selected markets in Europe. After that, the TB295W will be launched worldwide.
