In the coming years, the company also plans to slowly expand westward. "This will allow us to become a strong player locally and serve our already larger clients or national projects even better."
Growing for the sake of growing, however, is not what 1.2.3. Machine Rental is all about. "We want to unburden customers and provide service by thinking with them and acting together," says deputy director Jeroen Perin. "1.2.3. Machine Rental does not have to be the biggest in the country or have a branch on every street corner to offer our services. Where others want to sell the most hamburgers, you can also come to us for a good steak. That's the way to see it."
But Perin does foresee growth in the coming years. "As in recent years, when we did open one new branch every year, we will continue to do so. In order to also be able to provide the larger customers and larger projects with our machines, national coverage is simply nice. Eventually we want to grow to 20 to 25 branches. But we remain regionally and locally rooted. That is our strength."
As are skilled staff, who serve customers with passion time and again. "We are driven and committed workers and give our customers attention to deliver the right solution. As a family business, everyone is very involved with their work, We do what we say, a deal is a deal." For this reason, the full-service rental company is especially committed to working together with its customers. The company has a wide range of rental machinery
Perin: "Because of our wide range, we can provide everyone with the right equipment. As part of the Inter-Rent group, which also includes Inter-Techno and Gencom, we can easily provide customized solutions and sometimes dare to take slightly bigger risks. Companies can also come to us for installment plan, lease or even purchase. Machines in your own company colors or with additional options are therefore no problem with us."
Most of the machines are equipped with M2M communications, making them remotely monitorable. This provides real-time information on the status and deployment of the equipment. In this way, 1.2.3. Machine Rental anticipate possible breakdowns, maintenance to be performed and inform customers about the use and consumption of machines. "Customers like you to think along with them. It happens that we advise customers to work with a different machine because we can see from the data - running hours, maintenance intervals and the like - that this is more efficient or cheaper. That will become much more important in the future."
Speaking of that future: more and more municipalities are prescribing emission-free work. Jeroen Perin comments, "We applaud this and also see it reflected in rental requests for electric or hybrid machines. We have a range of all-electric excavators, shovels, hand tools, vibratory plates and separate battery packs. We also see limitations with regard to price and usability, especially with the larger equipment. Full electrification will take some time, as the network in the Netherlands is not yet fully prepared for this. Alternative solutions to be able to work emission-free, for example by using hydrogen, are still under development and therefore very expensive."
Therefore, hybrid solutions are now a good intermediate solution and often cost-effective, Perin believes. "We can already deliver very good hybrid solutions, with a generator and a battery pack or with windwheels or solar panels. With that you can already save a lot on fuel and emissions. Especially in combination with the use of cleaner fuels such as GTL and HVO. Examples include: hybrid aerial work platforms, generators, light towers, shovel trucks and ladder elevators."
It also helps that 1.2.3. Machine Rental knows its way around machinery country and knows which parties to turn to for all sustainable solutions. "We are also still investing heavily in the very cleanest Stage V diesel engines. These will be indispensable in the coming years in the transition," concludes Perin.
