Engcon, the world's largest manufacturer of rotary tilt attachments, is now developing a proprietary tilt sensor suitable for the most widely used excavator systems on the market. This development leads to a clearer interface, cheaper installation and easier support.
Engcon rotary tilt attachments of size EC209 and above have been compatible with the largest (also automatic) excavators on the market for several years . Now engcon is taking the next step with the development of a completely proprietary tilt sensor.
"Our rotary tilters already work well with the excavation systems on the market. Now we want to innovate the interface, using our own tilt sensor," says Peter Huczkowsky, responsible for developing Engcon's control systems and other electronics.
Peter Huczkowsky explains that the interface will be state of the art because Engcon supplies all the technology needed. Thus, in addition to the rotary attachment, engcon also supplies the cabling from the control system of the DC2 to the cab, where the excavation system is connected. This also saves time and contributes to lower installation costs.
Testing will be conducted during 2019. Engcon expects the proprietary tilt sensor to be ready before the turn of 2019/2020 and compatible with the most common excavation systems on the market.
"The integration of excavation systems will also become easier and cheaper, as the tilt sensor will be included as standard in the engcon positioning system (ePS) mounting kits," said Peter Huczkowsky.
Engcon's tilt sensor can be retrofitted to Engcon turntables from the EC209 to the EC233.
