(Soil) research and advice from a single source

Expertise in soil, water, environmental, asbestos and explosives detection. Since January 2018, the companies Envita, Lankelma-Almelo and Explovision have been operating under the banner of Ortageo. "Through this merger, we can offer a total offering in the management of environmental risks in order to build, live and work safely," says company manager Jasper Bresser. "Research and advice come from one source and that offers numerous advantages."

Ortageo is synonymous with center of habitat. "We provide both research and advice so that our clients can implement their plans as efficiently as possible and at manageable costs," says Bresser. "We are very flexible as an organization which means we can always provide a suitable solution for a specific project. Can't do, doesn't exist with us. We see the independent execution of soil research (probing) and the interpretation of data as a tool to come to a good and solid advice."

Going the extra mile

For optimal results, Bresser says it is important for Ortageo to be at the table early on. "We often hold up a mirror to our clients and ask the right questions for the best possible research and advice. We take on a coordinating role, including coordination with stakeholders. We always go the extra mile and that is appreciated by our clients." Ortageo works for governments, property developers, contractors, water boards, structural engineers, housing associations, investors, architects and private individuals. "On behalf of a national engineering firm, we were closely involved in the widening of the A27," says Robbin Schipper, geotechnical engineering consultant. "We did the entire geotechnical investigation leading up to the road widening. It included drilling and probing, as well as environmental soil testing. The results were incorporated into a recommendation. We also prepared geotechnical longitudinal profiles based on the research done."

We see the independent execution of soil research (probing) and the interpretation of data as a tool to arrive at good and sound advice.

Currently, Ortageo is conducting probing and mechanical drilling around the Badhoevedorp interchange. Schipper: "This is where a number of stakeholders come together. Not only do we deal with the road authority, but also with a large number of cable and pipeline operators, not to mention Schiphol Airport. In addition, we are frequently asked for research and advice on seismic construction in Groningen and we are increasingly combining geotechnical and magnetic research to investigate the soil structure or existing underground structures." Bresser adds: "Because of our extensive expertise, we are also increasingly asked to provide advice based on data provided by third parties. From footpath to highway, from playground to soccer stadium, nothing is too crazy for us!"
