Customer-specific machines for the foundation industry

As a successful partner in the foundation industry, delivering added value. That is what Van den Heuvel from Werkendam stands for. For 70 years. The company makes customized machines that customers in the foundation industry use for their own specific purposes.

Speaking is Marc Timmerman, director at Van den Heuvel. "Besides finding the best suited machine for every job in the field of piling, hoisting and ground improvement, we produce that machine ourselves if required when no standard solution is possible. Through our years of experience in the market, we know what the customer needs, understand the demand and get to work."

From a to z

"In our engineering department, all the designs and calculations are made. The finished drawings go to the workshop where we make the steelwork ourselves. Then that goes to the repair shop where the machine is assembled. Of course, we also paint the machine in the desired color." All machines undergo extensive testing and inspection. "Because we only supply high-quality machines that meet the applicable standards," says Timmerman. "Of course, we also provide maintenance and service for the machines."

Specific issues

"We work exclusively with reliable brands," continued Timmerman, "that are built with a passion for technical innovations. This allows us to respond directly to specific issues from the market." For example, Van den Heuvel developed the VDH-MP60: a modular multipurpose machine. Excellent for work such as driving piles and displacement drilling, drilling mortar screw piles and also vibrating mini-vibro piles. "Initially developed based on a customer request, but now deployable as a basic 60-70 ton machine. And then of course fully prepared and automated according to customer requirements."

"As the Sennebogen importer for the Netherlands, we looked at how to make them suitable for the foundation industry," says Timmerman. "Together with Sennebogen, the 653 and 673 have been adapted so that vibration work can be carried out with them according to the 16228 standard. Unique within the industry!" Finally, Timmerman mentions the PD, PDX and XLR scaffolding: "we converted a Sennebogen machine for Dimco to PDX, creating a crane with a suspended broker and sliding table, which can be used for lifting and foundation work." Timmerman concludes, "Is it not there yet and the desire is there? Then we'll make it anyway!" That is the strength of Van den Heuvel.
