Oosterhof Holman has been a household name in the north for more than 108 years (!) and in more than a century has grown into a complete player in the versatile infrastructure and environmental engineering sector. Partly thanks to an enthusiastic club of young people, the family business is going through a digital transition. Time registration, planning of people and equipment, workplace inspections, it all happens digitally in one and the same platform: Cleverdesk.
Over the years, Oosterhof Holman has built up a solid IT infrastructure. "From laws and regulations and various standards, we are obliged to register more and more information about our work," says Aletta Zwart of Royal Oosterhof Holman. "Our people outside are made happy by beautiful roads and bridges. They don't get happy with a lot of administration. So we were looking for a platform that makes administration relatively easy and "thinking along" system, even for administrative laymen. In addition, it had to be able to deal with all our disciplines, ranging from infrastructure, environmental engineering and greenery to plan development and concrete and hydraulic engineering and integrate seamlessly with our ERP system Metacom."
The beauty of Cleverdesk is that it integrates all operational processes for an overall view.
Out of a forest of different solutions, Cleverdesk emerged as the most suitable solution for Oosterhof Holman. "What's also great about Cleverdesk is that it integrates all of our disciplines, so we can eventually digitize all of our operational processes in one platform, regardless of division," says Aletta. "That also gives one overall view and links with our ERP system, a requirement. Moreover, our people enjoy working with Cleverdesk; the software is user-friendly and can be operated intuitively." Cleverdesk is completely focused on digitizing the operational processes of GWW companies. Think of the processes on the construction site, but also time registration, safety and quality of people and equipment. Even customization is possible. "We work with a key user group on new developments, a team of different customers whose activities overlap," explains Maarten Overeem of Idee101, founder of Cleverdesk. "In co-creation, we are building more and more new modules. For example, we are now developing a KAM module and a module for equipment rental."
We worked with Oosterhof Holman's green department on an IoT module in Cleverdesk. "Using sensors, we can read out via a LoRa network when a tree or other planting needs to be watered," Maarten explains. "So the greenery does not have to water periodically, but receives a notification in Cleverdesk when the time comes. This promotes efficiency. It saves a lot of time as well as water. Software-wise, the module is now ready for implementation. The green companies are clearly innovating and the use of sensors is increasing rapidly. The exchange of knowledge and ideas keeps our platform constantly evolving."
