Optimal compatibility of formwork and scaffolding systems

For versatile use in construction

Familiar faces and new innovations at the Infra Relatiedagen in Hardenberg. This three-day trade fair is the annual networking platform where civil engineering professionals come together and where the latest innovative products and services within the industry are shown.

One of those familiar faces is PERI: the company has been seen as an innovator in formwork technology and scaffolding construction for more than forty years. Rienk Gernaat, sales engineer at PERI: "The great innovative strength of PERI provides systems that contribute to more efficient, economical, faster and safer construction. To show GWW professionals what PERI has to offer, we showed various systems at the fair."

The PERI UP Flex scaffold is equipped with a trap lock or "gravity lock" girder that allows assembly from a secure position.

"For example, there is the PERI DUO: the revolutionary formwork system for foundations, walls, columns, floors and beams," continued Gernaat. "Made from polymers, this system formwork has a very low weight but retains its high load-bearing capacity and is therefore handy and very economical (without crane) to deploy." The minimal number of different system components contributes to making it easy, fast and efficient to work with; without tools where the working steps are easy to understand. In addition, the use of the innovative DUO Planner app is an absolute added value. Gernaat explains: "This allows users of the DUO lightweight formwork system to easily plan, work out and pour floor plans."

Gernaat also mentions the MAXIMO: the panel formwork system with single-sided anchor technology. "The MAXIMO Panel formwork minimizes distortions in the concrete appearance, creating an ordered panel seam and center pattern. Thanks to its central anchoring technology - a conical centering system developed by PERI - the MAXIMO system does not require spacers and cones. Another additional advantage: because the system has to be installed by only one person and only on one side, it saves time and resources."

Exhibits at the fair included the DUO lightweight formwork (back) and PERI's versatile plywood range (front).

Stefan den Boer, Sales Engineer Scaffolding at PERI, demonstrated at the fair the advantages of PERI UP FLEX: the flexible scaffolding system with maximum adaptability for building safe working floors at height. Den Boer: "At the fair, we showed the wide range of applications of the PERI UP FLEX in a special demo area. As a modular system with few but flexibly combinable components, PERI UP offers a solution for all applications: from industrial scaffolding, supports for construction and industry to fixed and mobile canopies. And the "gravity lock" beam allows assembly from a safe position. The girders are instantly and automatically secured. The gratings are also self-locking. They exist in different sizes to form a metric grid. Useful for working safely around columns, for example." Den Boer concludes that in combination with the unique PERI VARIOKIT system, the PERI UP FLEX can be ideally used for special constructions.

Maarten Waagenaar, Sales Manager Plywood at PERI BeNeLux B.V. explains that plywood formwork materials are suitable for almost any application.

From the PERI Panel Products division, Sales Manager Plywood Maarten Waagenaar told all about the PERI PANELS: the extensive range of PERI formwork sheets. "The high-quality plywood shuttering plates are available for the Dutch market in various sizes and qualities and thus suitable for almost any application." Needless to say: the compatibility of PERI's formwork and scaffolding systems is enormous.

This was also evident from the extensive visual presentation at the fair where PERI showed some recent projects within the Benelux. "Here it was easy to see that PERI, through the optimal use of knowledge, experience and materials in cooperation with customers and partners always realizes a suitable project-specific custom solution - and this while constantly taking into account the balance of material and labor costs," concludes Gernaat.
