Vacuum technology for silently laying industrial slabs and tiles

Vacuum technology for quiet laying of industrial plates and tiles

On the beach of Katwijk, the company Schaddé van Dooren is at work with a very quiet vacuum unit to lay industrial plates. This vacuum unit is driven by a battery-powered electric motor. Thanks to this silent machine, they can continue working while beachgoers are sitting on the terrace. This also makes a huge difference for the employees; no noise pollution and no gasoline fumes to work in. And don't forget the environment! In a video on YouTube, Lourens ten Hove explains their experiences and why they chose an electric vacuum unit with battery. (You can find it on the channel of Nimatech bv).

The vacuum unit has lithium batteries that can be operated for over a day. Thanks to the start/stop system, the electric motor, which drives the vacuum pump, only turns on when the vacuum in the suction cup decreases too much. Whether the correct vacuum level has been reached is also shown by the illuminated vacuum gauge and the clear red and green lamp on the machine. The operator can use the remote control from a shovel or crane to activate the vacuum and unload the product again. On the remote control, the operator also sees, through red and green lights, whether it is safe to lift.

Solutions around CO2-emissions

The vacuum unit also provides regulatory solutions around CO2 emissions. There are 1344 projects locked within the Netherlands because the reduction of emissions is not achieved and the PFAS standard is too high. This product can help solve this problem. For example, there is the possibility to still achieve this standard in many areas. It is also possible to choose to process materials that are normally disposed of on the project.

For example, Nimatech also has a suction frame for the purpose of vacuuming 30 x 30 tiles. This frame has the possibility to clean the tiles vertically relative to each other. The frame is suitable to vacuum and palletize tiles as well as to move new tiles in formation 4/3/4. The consequence of working with this frame is that no old tiles are removed, no new tiles are produced and the new tiles do not have to be transported. So a 3 x win situation.

For example, in the past a lot of machine paving has been done with vacuum technology. This technique requires a lot of power. The solution seemed obvious. Clamping power instead of suction power! This implies that a heavy machine is no longer needed for machine paving.
