Renzo Taal becomes new CEO of Thinkproject

Thinkproject has appointed Renzo Taal as its new CEO effective Nov. 14, 2022. He succeeds Patrik Heider who has decided to leave Thinkproject. Taal brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from the international B2B SaaS and CRM markets. Thinkproject is a European provider of the leading SaaS platform for construction and engineering projects.

Dutchman Renzo Taal has extensive experience as a top manager in various roles at Salesforce, among others. His last position with this company was General Manager Asia in Singapore. Before that, he worked for UIPath, a specialist for Robotic Process Automation, where he managed growth as Senior Vice President & Managing Director EMEA.

Continuing growth momentum

Taal sees it as his mission as the new CEO to continue Thinkproject's growth trajectory. "We will continue to drive Thinkproject's successful international expansion strategy and accelerate our development," Taal said. "Especially in Europe, we are a clear market leader. In its 22-year existence, Thinkproject has grown significantly, partly through numerous acquisitions. Today, our portfolio is much broader than the original Common Data Environment (CDE) offering. We are working hard on the end-to-end integration of our services to provide our customers with a seamless experience."

Acquisition Kairnial

Thinkproject acquired the French Kairnial Group in January of this year with its mobile Building Information Management (BIM) system. "With our integrated solutions, we want to continue to digitize the processes for planning, construction and operation of buildings in the future," Taal continued. "There is still a lot of untapped potential in the sector. Although the construction and infrastructure sectors are the main drivers of economic growth worldwide, the level of digitization is still quite low. Renzo Taal holds an MScBA in Finance & Information Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In his subsequent career, he worked at Dell between 2002 and 2012, including as Enterprise Director Asia Pacific & Japan and Services Sales Director China & Hong Kong. From 2012 to 2014, he worked at Philips in the Netherlands as Senior Vice President and General Manager EMEA. After six years at Salesforce - most recently as General Manager Asia - he moved to UIPath as Senior Vice President and Managing Director EMEA.
