New system for long-term maintenance-free asphalt

Especially within built-up areas, asphalt maintenance is an increasing growing challenge. How do you limit inconvenience to the environment, meet the needs of road users, meet environmental requirements and also keep costs down? With PenTack M, BMI Esha has developed a system for asphalt maintenance that takes these aspects into account. After treatment with the life-extending product, the road is maintenance-free and resistant to high temperatures for many years. And during construction, traffic disruption is minimal. 

Highly modified, rejuvenating bitumen emulsion

PenTack M is a highly modified, rejuvenating bitumen emulsion that is sprayed onto aged and fraying asphalt pavement with special spray equipment. Immediately afterwards, it is dusted with a special mix of fine minerals. In a time frame of about 1 hour, the road can be released to traffic again and is free of maintenance for years to come. Research by independent laboratories shows that application of the material extends the life of asphalt. The highly modified bitumen of PenTack M and the rapid shedding of the road surface, creates a permanent mastic, skimmed unevennesses are permanently filled. In addition to these special properties, PenTack M is resistant to high temperatures. Up to 60° Celsius, for example, the material does not stick to tires.

LVO measure

More than twenty years ago, BMI Esha introduced life-extending asphalt maintenance in the Netherlands. With PenTack, a bituminous asphalt rejuvenation system, it has been shown that preventing damage to roads is much more effective and economical than repairing damage afterwards. PenTack has been validated as an LVO measure by the Department of Public Works and is widely used. Now BMI is introducing Esha PenTack M.
