Four proud employees greet us as we enter the newly opened showroom cum training center in Weert. Nering Bögel has not let the grass grow under its feet: the splendidly furnished space invites us to become acquainted with everything that the country's largest developer and manufacturer of innovative solutions for optimal infrastructure has to offer.
Among other things, Nering Bögel specializes in drains and gutters, gutters and gratings, floor hatches, covers, gullies and manhole covers, check valves, spindle valves, and oil and grease separators. Best of all, most of the products are now on display "live," ready to be viewed, touched and demonstrated. Like everything else at Nering Bögel, this new information center was created in a joint effort. The men behind this internal project: Henrie van Geneijgen, account manager, Martijn Heldens, project manager, Adolf Kainama, account manager and Henk Stals, head of engineering.
Good hospitality is no stranger to Nering Bögel, as the new Information Center proves. "Everyone is welcome here," Henrie opens the conversation. "Our clients, their customers, decision-makers at government agencies, the business world and, above all, schools, who want to introduce their students to our 'water world' in real life." Very early on, Nering Bögel had a small showroom, in front of the office. "With that, we were selling ourselves short. In 2011 we built our first presentation room here on our premises. This also changed the purpose of the space; we could invite customers. Together with partner companies, we gave presentations and lectures. That evolved into complete course days for municipalities, companies and schools, for example. The space was also used for internal training. That this was a hit was shown by the fact that we had constant arrivals and that from all over the country."
Nering Bögel thought it was time for a redesign of the showroom/presentation space. Martijn: "Henrie, Adolf and I sat down around the table to determine what our customers' wishes and needs were when it came to furnishing this space. We first removed everything that was in the space, to start with a clean slate. The market has changed, was our conclusion. There is more demand for custom solutions in separators, for example." Henrie adds: "The focus in this space used to be on gullies and manhole edges; it was full of them. Now we show a total picture." Adolf adds, "Take a modern distribution center as an example. Underneath is a complete underground infrastructure in which as many as eight of our product groups converge. Here we can show exactly which ones they are."
"When I started here 17 years ago, clients walked in with plans. Today they come in with a problem, for which a solution - customized or otherwise - is sought. From the problem solution, we like to write a plan with them. Many such plans have been designed in this space and we are all proud of that," Henrie outlines. A big difference from the past is that the operation of products can be experienced live. That's where Henk comes in as technical man: "The three gentlemen came to my desk with questions, to be able to show certain products working. That was a nice challenge, but we succeeded. Many products now have 'dry' functionality. With the push of a button you can show how something works technically. That is very enlightening for the customer."
Nering Bögel lovingly shares its knowledge. Adolf: "Sometimes we are brought into a construction team because of our knowledge, or clients approach us because they can no longer see the wood for the trees due to the many rules, laws and permits. A client or contractor appreciates the whole spectrum of drainage solutions. It has long since ceased to be about a standard oil separator or gully." Martijn continues: "Our strength is to act on every client request and ask questions from the right expertise. We bring practical experience to the table and don't think in terms of problems, but challenges."
The new space makes the Weert-based company's expertise tangible. "Some buyers have never seen a flume up close. When they take a look in our own laboratory -adjacent to the showroom- sometimes mouths fall open in amazement. This is where everything comes together and becomes clear," Henrie said. "We offer personal attention and added value and 'live our own product' and show everything we do with pride," Adolf concludes.
