Planmeister launched in September the platform in the GWW where supply and demand can find each other. On the platform you can see at a glance which machines are offered where through a map view and, as a planner, you can quickly contact your competitor. "We have now been full steam ahead with the platform for almost three months and we are happy to see that the platform is being positively received by the industry, but it is now time for the next step." says Kor van der Flier, commercial director at Planmeister.
The organization expanded its platform this month with an app for Android and IOS.
Kor continues, "Because of our knowledge of the GWW sector, we know better than anyone else that as a planner, one moment you are sitting at your desk and the next you are standing with your boots in the clay. Whether you are in the field or not, planning is ongoing. Taking phone calls, scheduling machines and getting the right people in the right place. It remains a challenge. For this reason, we have developed an app in addition to the web version." Kor explains in the interview that quite a bit went into producing the app. "We tested the app through and through on different cell phones and found that the app worked well on one phone and not on another. Fortunately, we fixed these issues in the final version, but it took us quite some time to get the app the way we wanted it. We are proud of what is there now and will continue to improve this version."
The app works basically the same as the web version, but is more user-friendly for cell phones and tablets. Kor briefly explains how the app works: "Of course, it all starts with downloading the app from the Appstore or Google Playstore. Then a person can log into their account or create an account and offer and search for people, machines, materials and raw and building materials." He continues: "We incorporated the map view into the app as well, and on it you can see at a glance who/what, where and when is available, and you can contact your peers directly from the app."
Planmeister has now been live for almost three months and the organization is not standing still. Harm Slooff, commercial employee and co-inventor of Planmeister, says: "We received incredibly valuable feedback from the first users and we incorporated this into the app. For example, our users can offer and search for machines based on their GPS location. In addition, offering users can easily place their machines and take pictures of their equipment with their mobile or tablet. Finally, our users can use push notifications. For example, is a machine not available? Then they can put out a query and receive a push notification when that machine is available." Kor complements him: "We really looked at what our customers need when they are on a machine themselves and need to get the schedule done quickly, and we developed this app with that in mind."
Planmeister will continue to expand in the coming months. "Both online and offline we are going to expand. Annelies started at the beginning of November as a back office employee and in January our new account manager Fatima will start. In addition, in the first quarter we are going to organize Planmeister networking evenings for all GWW companies, but of course we will also continue to develop online. There will be a supply and demand overview, a maximum offer duration and an interactive dashboard.," Kor says, closing: "We continue to develop the platform and look forward to all the great strides we will make in 2022."
