High quality geotechnical sealing structures

Prosé Geotechniek has a long history of supplying and installing geotechnical materials at home and abroad. The company has relied on NAUE Group's high-quality geosynthetic plastics since its founding in 1990. Earlier this year, the two companies entered into a joint venture and have since been operating under the NAUE Prosé Geotechniek banner in the Netherlands. This has further expanded the range of services and products to include an engineering office, research laboratory and a sustainable line of mineral sealing materials.

NAUE Prosé Geotechnics specializes in creating soil protection facilities through high-quality geosynthetic sealing structures. "We are active in industry, environment & infra and in hydraulic engineering," begins Peter Prosé. "Think of HDPE sealing structures for the construction of basins, dams, canals, tunnels and storage and disposal sites, among others. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to carry out quite a few high-profile projects. One of them is even visible on Google Earth." Prosé is referring to the 50,000 m² water basin in a recreational park of the Kuwait Oil Company in the middle of the desert. NAUE Prosé Geotechniek is also the regular supplier at the State Oil Company of Suriname. "This is where we have been coming with great pleasure for almost twenty years."

In the Netherlands, Prosé has made its name primarily in the construction and sealing of storage and dumping sites. "We founded the Joure landfill thirty years ago and recently completed a 25,000 m² expansion here. In total we have made over 3,000,000 m² of HDPE sealing structures here. At the largest landfill in the Netherlands, which is being transformed in phases into a recreational area, we provided the first phase with top sealing and finishing, amounting to over 500,000 m². And we could go on like this for a while. But we are also regularly active in the infrastructure sector. For example, for the coal storage facility at the RWE power plant in Delfzijl, we provided more than 180,000 m² of under-sealing, including a leak detection system. We have also applied many hundreds of thousands of square meters of geogrids in large-scale infrastructure projects such as the Central Axis, expansion of the A2 motorway between 's-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven, and most recently 220,000 m² for the Barendrecht sound barrier on the A15 motorway."

To create soil protection facilities, NAUE Prosé Geotechniek uses HDPE Carbofol in most cases.^® from NAUE. "These HDPE seals are characterized by high density and come with KIWA certification. Our fitters are also KIWA-certified," emphasizes Prosé. "In the context of sustainability, we also notice an increasing demand for mineral seals. NAUE Bentofix^® Bentonite mats are gaining popularity for seals against liquids and gases in various application areas, as well as in landfills. In recent years, we have developed Bentofix^® successfully applied as mineral top and intermediate seals. The natural sodium bentonite guarantees an immediate and required swelling capacity in the installation phase to safely seal any unexpected mechanical damage."
