For decades, Pomaz has been booking product Dryden Aqua AFM® wonderful results in the field of swimming pool water filtration. However, the glass filter product lends itself to many more forms of water filtration. Manufacturer of AFM®, Dryden Aqua, has very large references around the world in numerous different applications. By matching the electrostatic charge to the application, many more substances can be filtered out of water. There is even a pilot project underway where microplastics and pharmaceutical substances are being filtered out of water.
"For years, operators and managers of (public) swimming pools have been our ambassadors when it comes to water filtration with Dryden Aqua AFM®", says Roy Peeters of Pomaz. "It has never been easier for them to ensure water quality. The results are amazing: cleaner and healthier water, healthy air (less bound chlorine) and all at a much lower cost. What makes the filter unique is the active, electrostatic charge, which can be tuned to the specific application. By "playing" with this, AFM transforms® to a custom item for filtering numerous substances from water. This also makes it suitable for applications other than just filtering pool water. Thus, we have already achieved great results at zoos, aquariums, breweries, large bodies of water and fish farms. AFM® also offers great advantages as pre-filtration for RO systems and prevents biofilm formation on the membranes."
AFM® from Dryden Aqua is a 100% recycled glass product, making it a sustainable alternative to a sand filter. "The filtration rate is more than eight times higher than a sand filter and the glass filter has a much longer life span," Peeters explains. "Sand absorbs dirt, but also creates a climate in which bacteria secrete a slimy substance: biofilm. That, in turn, forms the basis for biomass, the big jammer for a filter system. The electrostatic charge in AFM® on the other hand, prevents bacteria from developing. This is because they do not reach the surface of the glass pellet. In this way, disruption of the filtration system is excluded. Depending on the application, we can adjust the electrostatic charge to filter the desired substances from the water. Thanks to our many years of experience with filtration processes and AFM® we can create a custom solution for any application. Together with Dryden Aqua and a UV specialist, we are now working on an application to filter microplastics and pharmaceutical substances from water. We will present the results in six months."
More and more companies are finding Pomaz for filtration problems or to improve the performance of filtration systems. "We can use AFM® provide a low-threshold and relatively inexpensive solution with high performance and longevity," Peeters concluded.
