Rotterdam Ahoy and Eventually have decided to join forces to host, simultaneously with InfraTech at the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre (RACC), the conference organized by Eventually "Building in Water" to organize. This symposium is a continuation of the previous hydraulic engineering event "World Water Works," which took place at Antwerp Expo on March 23 and 24, 2016.
The symposium "Building in Water" deals with the construction and design of an industrial energy island in or near the mouth of the Westerschelde estuary, including a dam in the Westerschelde estuary within the framework of hinterland protection, with ample consideration for new nature, accessibility of the Westerschelde ports and a second N-Z connection. There will also be opportunities for the design and construction of a container terminal on the sea side with storage and transhipment of goods and an offshore working port. There will also be room for accommodating nuclear power plant(s), an LNG terminal and alternative energy supplies from solar, wind and tidal and establishment of industries.

The trade show InfraTech counted more than 630 exhibitors and over 21,000 visitors during its last edition. This makes InfraTech by far the most important exhibition for the infrastructure, ground, road and hydraulic engineering sector in the Netherlands. Partly due to the integration of the "Building in Water" congress, the target group of exhibitors, fair visitors, congress participants and speakers will become cross-border, especially towards Flemish Belgium and Northern France. All this makes mutual cooperation natural and strengthening for all parties involved.
For the themes of the congress with the network plaza, expert speakers have been invited from government, industry and science. In consultation with these parties, Prof. Drs. Ir. Han Vrijling TU-Delft and Rein van Vliet of Eventually with further support from industry, trade associations and market leaders, the program will be drawn up.
