Two operating companies united to form a full-service foundation specialist
Terracon continues to focus on challenging projects in complex circumstances, but naturally also carries out small drilling operations in difficult situations.

Two operating companies united to form a full-service foundation specialist

Terracon Funderingstechniek and Molhoek Infratechniek are joining forces. Bringing these two Strukton companies together will create synergy and a complete range of services: from earthworks and pile mattresses to geotextiles, reinforced soil structures, and specialist foundation work. In short, a full-service foundation specialist.

Under the leadership of director René van Kekem, both companies are building a joint future. “The goal is clear: a strong, integrated organization that combines the foundation specialisms of both companies,” says Van Kekem. “Terracon has been a trusted name in the foundation world for many years, specializing in pile driving and drilling with, among other things, the Tubex system (TerraCompact). Molhoek Infratechniek adds unique disciplines to this, such as jacking, noise barriers, horizontal drilling, platform renovations, and green maintenance.”

Optimal synergy

The formal merger of both companies is planned for early 2026, with the intention of eventually continuing under one name. For the time being, they will continue to operate under their own banners, but in practice, the collaboration is already visible in projects. Such as on the 15-hectare industrial site in Botlek, for example, where both companies complement each other perfectly. “We are helping to build an overpass for train and road traffic on the industrial estate,” says Henk Groenevelt, project manager at Terracon Funderingstechniek. “To do this, we are drilling piles using the Tubex system in a complex industrial environment, between pipeline corridors and in close collaboration with Strukton Rail. Molhoek Infratechniek, in turn, is responsible for horizontal drilling for cables and pipelines. This project perfectly illustrates how our different disciplines reinforce each other.”

Quality and flexibility

Terracon and Molhoek Infratechniek are also seeking each other out elsewhere. “These are usually projects that require not only technical knowledge, but also a high degree of flexibility and cooperation. That is exactly where the new combination excels,” says Van Kekem. “Flexibility also means keeping promises, thinking along with the customer, and delivering quality. That is what we stand for. We believe in good preparation with a strong focus on safety. And we can deliver on that with our large team of work planners, who enjoy and are passionate about their work.”

Despite the merger, the core values of both entities remain intact. “With Terracon, we will continue to focus on challenging projects in complex circumstances, but we will of course also carry out small drilling projects in difficult situations. That is what we have always been good at and what suits us,” emphasizes Van Kekem. “With Molhoek Infratechniek, we are evolving into a full-service foundation specialist and are also able to expand into the rail environment, where maneuvering is more difficult.”
