Bobcat presents new range of small articulated loaders

Thanks to the introduction of the new articulated loaders, Bobcat has the largest range of loaders.

Designed and manufactured at Bobcat's factories in North America, the new articulated loaders offer excellent stability with a tipping load of up to 1.39 tons. This makes it easier for the machines to lift a load over a gully or sidewalk; also thanks to excellent visibility from the cab. The large lifting capacity in relation to the machine weight is ideal when heavy loads need to be lifted and moved in tight spaces. The L28's extendable lift arm offers more options for easily moving loads, and the ability to increase the counterweight allows the operator to match the lift capacity to the job.

Thanks to compact dimensions with a width of just over a meter coupled with a small turning radius, the small Bobcat articulated loaders are ideal for work in difficult and hard-to-reach areas. These machines are robust yet light enough to be easily transported.

Broadening charger range

Bobcat is once again broadening its range of loaders with the small articulated loaders, creating more business opportunities for authorized Bobcat dealers. With the new small articulated loaders, Bobcat can serve more customers not only in the growing markets of landscaping, small construction and maintenance projects for municipalities, but also in agriculture and horticulture.

John Chattaway, Loaders Product Manager at Bobcat, says: "Small articulated loaders offer a lot of power in a compact and lightweight design. They are very easy to operate, making them powerful yet convenient multipurpose machines for a wide range of applications. The L23 and the L28 both have a power rating of 25 hp and are equipped with intuitive instrumentation. Practically any user can work with them, making them attractive to a wider range of customers."

"Small articulated loaders are mainly used for loading and moving. As a result, high lifting capacity, stability and low ground disturbance are the most important features for users. The market can benefit from Bobcat's many years of experience in designing and building loaders, allowing the company to produce machines that are safe, reliable and highly durable. The end result is a range of machines with a quality that clearly exceeds that of comparable products on the market."

Canopy or a cabin

Bobcat's small articulated loaders are available with either a canopy or a cab. Both are designed for comfortable operation and provide additional space for easy entry and exit. The controls are intuitive, making them accessible to both experienced and inexperienced operators. For work in colder climate zones, a closed cab with a heated seat is available.

The simple and intuitive design of the small articulated loaders with dual pedals allows for quick and easy direction changes: one pedal moves the machine forward, the other backward. Operators easily master these driving controls, making the small articulated loader an excellent choice for seasonal workers or rental customers. In addition, the controls are also easy to master for operators who need to work on multiple machines.

In addition to its impressive lift capacity, the L28 is equipped with a telescopic lift arm that increases lift height and reach. The model features an innovative two-cylinder design that keeps the load level when the operator moves the bucket and needs to handle material at height. The telescopic cylinder is synchronized with a hydraulic leveling clutch. This supports leveling and prevents material from falling over the back of the bucket.

To make the new small articulated loaders truly multifunctional, Bobcat has used its attachment expertise to create a special version of its proprietary Bob-Tach® attachment system. This makes it possible to use attachments for the S70/MT55 as well as attachments for the S100/S450.

The reliable, in-line, high-torque engine is certified for Stage V but is mechanically controlled, allowing it to be used in all regions. The efficient cooling system of the small articulated loaders allows better operation and protection of components and excellent performance.

Soil conservation

Bobcat's small articulated loaders are specially designed to minimize damage to the ground; not only through the use of an articulated joint that allows the rear wheels to follow the path of the front wheels when cornering, but also through the sod-safe mode that reduces wheel slip. This makes Bobcat's small articulated loaders ideal for work in landscaping and for light construction and maintenance projects where space is tight and the ground needs to be protected.

Depending on working conditions, these Bobcat machines automatically engage one of two traction modes: a high traction mode for good control on rough or slippery terrain or the sod-safe mode for minimum soil disturbance

When the steering wheel is not turning, high-traction mode provides excellent control and mobility on rough or slippery terrain. The sod-safe mode allows active steering and keeps the wheels from rubbing the ground, minimizing soil disturbance. In addition, an optional traction assist - similar to a differential lock - allows the operator to temporarily override the automatic modes and drive over difficult terrain with the flick of a switch.
